Travel Website Links Directory Submission Guidelines

TRAVEL.COM maintains an extensive, searchable directory of travel websites. We welcome you to add your own (or favorite) travel industry sites to our directory. For a website to be included in the travel directory, some minimum standards apply (but are not limited to):

1) Be a TRAVEL website or directly considered akin to the travel industry such as local attractions and restaurants.
2) The submitted link content must currently be in English.
3) NOT be a site using extensive outside advertising (we are looking for sites promotely their own services or other travel information).
4) Only one listing per domain or IP address is allowed without prior permission.
5) Your domain (URL) must be relevant to the category to which it is submitted.

We Are Eager to Add

We are always seeking listings for individual bed & breakfasts, hostels, pensions, condo/vacation homes by owner, independent hotels, restaurants, bars, theaters, ferries, RV parks, campgrounds, boating facilities, public golf courses, theme parks, local and national parks, embassies/consulates, public transportation, convention & visitor bureaus, government tourism offices, major shopping malls, and much more.

Link Exchanges

Our link exchange system is currently offline for an upgrade. However, if we accept your link to our travel directory and you do post reciproal links on your website, we would likewise appreciate a link back to our homepage at http://www.travel.com. We will be validating link exchanges in the future. Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to e-mail requests for link exchanges. All such exchange requests need to be submitted through our normal submissions process indicated herein.

How to Submit Your Site

To submit a site for consideration, navigate to the most appropriate category in our links directory and click on the Submit URL link there. If we need to create a new subcategory appropriate to your site (such as "Restaurants and Bars" or "Bed and Breakfasts") which may not have already been created for your area, we will do so when we approve your site and then move your site to that location.

When Will Your Submission to Online?

Generally, we are able to review new submissions within 48 hours. Once reviewed, we will send to you an e-mail advising whether or not your site has been added to our directory. It is that simple.

Excluded Travel Sites

TRAVEL.COM already has over 100,000 hotels online with extensive information in our hotel reservations areas. Hotels duplicating that content will not be allowed in the directory. If your hotel is part of a major hotel chain, we likely already have you online using the Sabre GDS. But we welcome independent hotels that are not already in our system (use the hotel booking engine on our home page to see if you are already listed to avoid duplication). For obvious reasons and to avoid confusion, sites with similar URLs to TRAVEL.COM will be excluded.

Other Exclusions

We are committed to maintaining a quality oriented directory viewable by people of all ages. Sites that include nudity or refer to sexual activity will not be permitted. Sites that have spammed our forums are also banned.

Verifications

In order to keep our listings current, we attempt to re-verify all links by visiting them with our automated link verification spiders. Sites that fail or block such verifications will be automatically deleted from our directory. We also welcome users to advise us of sites that may have inappropriate content or are no-longer in operation by clicking on the "Report" button for that specific listing.

Disclaimer

Inclusion or exclusion will be based on the editorial decisions of our editors and the best interests of TRAVEL.COM. TRAVEL.COM maintains the right to exclude any site for any reason whatsoever. Sites submitted to improper categories will not be accepted and possibly banned from future consideration. Sites attempting to use robotic submission systems or users that give false registration information will likewise be banned. We reserve the right to change these guidelines as we see fit.
